FIFA World Cup: Fiji students selected for friendship program

FIJI students Elizabeth Laqere and Hayyaan Khan, both 12 years old, are on their way to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia after departing Nadi International Airport yesterday.
They will be part of the FIFA Football for Friendship (F4F) program, which starts on Saturday, June 9 and ends on June 15 before the start of the world cup.
They will join children from 211 countries who were selected for the program.
Laqere, a Year 8 student of Saraswati Primary Manoca School in Nausori is accompanied by her grandmother Anaseini Wati, while Khan, who is from Ba, is accompanied by his father Mobin.
They will also watch the first match between hosts Russia and Saudi Arabia.
