THE family of 38-yearold Vimal Vikash Nand is demanding justice for the fatherof-two who was allegedly assaulted by a father and son on Sunday morning.
Mr Nand’s father Sachida Nand expressed anger over the alleged assault of his son who he claimed was attacked unprovoked by the suspects.
“I want justice for my son,” said Mr Nand.
“He did not deserve this.”
“He is supposed to be burying me. I am not supposed to be burying him.”
The late Mr Nand’s wife, Anjita Singh, said the last time she saw her husband alive was early Sunday morning.
“He was taking his new horse with my son for a ride and they left very early in the morning,” she said.
“And then the next time I saw him he was in the hospital and he couldn’t even talk to me. I was waiting for him to talk to me but he never said a word.”
The distraught family is now praying for the life of 16-year-old Jerad Anand Sami who is admitted at the Lautoka hospital in a critical state.
“He started vomiting blood and we are hoping and praying that he gets better,” said Mrs Singh.
“He is now under observation and we are waiting for word from the doctors to see him again.”
The two suspects were arrested and taken into police custody yesterday as investigations continue.
