Police Chief Operations Officer Acting Assistant Commissioner Livai Driu says the force will not condone any attacks on his officers after a policeman was allegedly assaulted in Labasa last week.
He said the officer from the Delailabasa Police Post was on patrol in the Tuatua area when the alleged incident happened.
“We are concerned with the recent number of attacks on police officers and warn that such actions will not be condoned,” he said.
Meanwhile, the five men arrested for aggravated robbery which led to a man’s death in Delailabasa on Monday night remain in police custody.
Acting ACP Driu said no one had been charged.
“The arrests were made possible through the quick sharing of information from members of the public who called in with information regarding their whereabouts.”
