Former All Blacks great Christian Cullen has been named an official ambassador for the 2027 McDonald’s Coral Coast Fiji 7s and will become the 20th inductee into the RugbyTown Walk of Fame in Sigatoka.

Known as the “Paekākāriki Express”, Cullen will be honoured during the tournament’s 15th edition, which will be held at Lawaqa Park from January 14-16, 2027.

Cullen, who earned 58 Test caps and scored 46 tries for New Zealand, made his mark in rugby sevens before becoming one of the game’s most feared attacking players.

Tournament founder and chairman Jay Whyte said Cullen’s connection with sevens and his attacking style made him a fitting addition to the RugbyTown Walk of Fame.

“Fijians appreciate players who are prepared to attack, take risks and play what is in front of them,” Whyte said.

Cullen will participate in tournament activities and engage with teams, supporters and the wider rugby community during the three-day event.

The tournament will feature 24 men’s, 12 women’s and 16 youth teams, bringing together international sides and some of Fiji’s top sevens talent.

Entry to Lawaqa Park will remain free, continuing the tournament’s tradition of making international rugby accessible to the public.
