A 240-square-metre portion of Soasoa area on Vanua Levu will be locked down.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said this was where the contact tracing for the first case in the North was underway.

“The surrounding homes, and neighbours he came into contact with, will be under this contained area’” he said.

Labasa recorded it first case today after the father of the 33-year-old hairdresser who recently tested positive to the virus also tested positive to COVID-19.

Fiji now has 12 cases of COVID-19.
