Fiji’s Ministry of Health and Medical Services is urging the drivers of the minibuses and taxi that transported the 53-year-old hotel worker and family members on April 16 and 17 to urgently contact the ministry on the number 158.
The ministry has issued the following advisory:
- If you are the driver or know the driver of a minibus that was hired to carry passengers – a 53-year-old woman and eight of her family members from Tavakubu to Nadi at 10 pm on Friday April 16;
- If you are the driver or know the driver of the minibus that was hired to carry passengers – a 53-year-old woman and seven other family members to Tavakubu, Lautoka from Nadi around 9 am on Saturday April 17;
- If you are the driver or know the driver of a grey taxi (as is recalled by the patient) that carried passengers including a 53-year-old woman and one other family member from Tavakubu, Lautoka after they attended a funeral, to Lautoka minibus stand on Saturday, April 17; and
- If you are the driver and a passenger of a minibus that departed from Lautoka to Nadi at around 5 pm on Saturday, April 17, along with a 53-year-old woman and one other family member,
Please contact the Ministry of Health and Medical Services urgently on the number 158.
“It is very important that you contact the Ministry of Health and Medical Services immediately, so that the ministry is able to carry out its full duty in protecting you, your family, communities and the rest of Fiji against the deadly COVID-19 virus. Help us so that we can help you and many others,” the ministry stated.
