‘COVID-19 has the potential to claim 120 lives in Fiji’

COVID-19 has the potential to claim 120 lives in Fiji but Government is working hard to address the threat.

This was the word from Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Disaster Management and Meteorological Services Jone Usamate.

He made the comment during debate on the COVID-19 Response Bill in Parliament on Friday.

Mr Usamate said COVID-19 was bigger than the global financial crisis of 2008 and statistics out of countries like Italy, where they had five cases at the beginning of March and 60,000 at the end of the month, was staggering.
