A 28-YEAR-OLD marketing and sales executive accused of rape appeared before judge Justice Thushara Rajasinghe today at the High Court in Suva.
The accused is charged with a count each of assault with intent to commit rape and rape.
It is alleged that on September 9, 2019, in Suva, he assaulted his 21-year-old girlfriend with an intent to rape her.
He is also alleged to have carnal knowledge of the complainant without her consent.
Justice Rajasinghe granted the accused bail with strict conditions.
He informed the accused not to reoffend and not to interfere with the State witnesses.
The matter now will be called again on December 2.
