Coral Coast power supply to be switched off to allow for repair works

Listen to this article:

POWER supply to the Coral Coast and surrounding areas will be switched off for one hour this Sunday, July 8, to allow Energy Fiji Limited (EFL) engineers to carry out repair and maintenance works.

EFL chief executive officer Hasmukh Patel said the repair and maintenance works would be carried out on their 33,000 Volts transmission line from EFL’s Nacocolevu Zone Substation to the Korolevu Zone Substation.

Mr Patel said the works would be undertaken weather permitting.

“In order to carry out the repair and maintenance works, EFL’s engineers will need to de-energise the 33,000 Volts transmission line from the Nacocolevu 33kV Zone Substation to Korolevu 33kV Zone Substation from 5am to 6pm on Sunday,” Mr Patel said in the advisory issued yesterday.
