THE Consumer Council of Fiji has urged customers to be vigilant and exercise caution when purchasing items during the Hibiscus festival.

In a statement, the Council stated that complaints in the past had ranged from poorly-cooked meals, unhygienic food practices and faulty foods.

The council has a booth set up at the festival and consumers are urged to visit them for any issues issues they may have or are seeking advice.

Consumers are urged to inspect the products they purchase thoroughly and maintain tax invoice or receipts.
