The launch of the 2024 Coca-Cola Games tickets on Monday saw a rapid booking of 2000 tickets on the same day.
Fiji Secondary Schools Athletics Association acting general secretary Biu Colati expressed concern over the fast rate at which the tickets were selling, stating that there were only 3000 grandstand tickets available, and they were flying off the shelves.
Despite the high demand for grandstand tickets, embankment and grass tickets were also selling well.
“The concrete embarkment and grass embarkment tickets are also selling, and those are going to be left for purchase, as the grandstand tickets are going fast,” said Colati.
“We encourage schools to book their tickets online as soon as possible, as the rate at which tickets were being sold was exceeding expectations.”
Defending champions Marist Brothers High School and Adi Cakobau School have already purchased their tickets, and preparations were on track for more than 3000 students to participate in the three day event.
Ticket sales teams were reaching out to schools to ensure they had the opportunity to purchase tickets before they sold out.
Ticket prices are for the grandstand are $55 for all the three days or $20 per day.
People choosing the grass embankment will be charged $10 per day and $15 for concrete embankment daily.
