ENVIRONMENTAL protection must be a daily responsibility for every household, school and business, Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica has urged.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Vodafone Nasinu Festival 2026 at Valelevu Grounds, on Saturday, Mr Kamikamica said collective action was essential to building a cleaner, greener and healthier Nasinu for future generations.

He emphasised that protecting the environment started with every day choices and required communities to take greater responsibility for their surroundings.

Held under the theme “Protecting our environment, preserving our future,” the eight-day festival brought together families, businesses and members of the communities for a celebration of community spirit and entertainment.

The festival provided an opportunity to bring people together while reinforcing the importance of environmental awareness and sustainable development as Nasinu works towards its long-term vision.
