Bua is proceeding to the semifinal of the Vodafone Vanua Challenge cup competition.
They clinched victory against Serua after scoring the first try in extra time.
The match initially ended in a 8-8 tie.
Despite two rounds of extra time, neither team could secure any points, forcing the match commissioner to step in to decide the winner.
The first half saw Bua taking an early lead with Viliame Rokoqica showcasing his scoring prowess by securing the only try of the half.
Despite being awarded two penalties, Bua was unable to capitalise on those opportunities.
However, Serua refused to back down, mounting a strong defence and maintaining their composure throughout the first half.
Despite trailing Bua, they remained determined to turn the tide in their favour.
As the game progressed into the second half, Serua’s blind wing Tevita Sorowale delivered a game changing performance, scoring a crucial try in the 75th minute.
This equaliser brought the score to a tense deadlock, keeping spectators on the edge of their seats.
With the match hanging in the balance, Serua seized the opportunity to take the lead with a well executed penalty, putting them ahead by a narrow margin of 8-5.
However, Bua was not ready to concede defeat just yet.
Their first five eighth Paulo Ruru delivered a spectacular drop goal that levelled the score once again.
Despite the win, Bua’s coach Josese Bolabasaga said the game did not go according to their game plan.
“God was on our side today and we give Him back the victory,” he said.
Bolabasaga said the Serua side was big built compared with our boys.
“I told the boys if King David could defeat Goliath, we can win against Serua,” he said.
