BSP reduces ATM interbank fees

Listen to this article:

BANK of the South Pacific (BSP) has reduced its ATM interbank fees.

This has made it cheaper for ANZ, Westpac and Bank of Baroda customers to use the extensive nationwide network of BSP ATMs.

In an announcement made today, BSP Fiji Country Head, Mr Haroon Ali said previously ANZ, Westpac and Bank of Baroda customers using BSP ATMs were charged $1.50 for withdrawals and $0.60 for balance enquiries.

With this reduction, he said these customers will be charged $0.50 and $0.20 respectively.

“We have found that the number of Fijians using their bank cards for everyday transactions is growing rapidly,” he said.

“This reduction is in the fee that we charge customers of Westpac, ANZ and Bank of Baroda when they use BSP ATMs in terms of the initial ATM Interbank Agreement.  These customers can now enjoy our extensive network of 118 BSP ATMs, at a much lower cost.”

Mr Ali said BSP customers are not affected by this change.

“BSP is also working closely with the Association of Banks in Fiji to include BRED and HFC in the ATM Interbank arrangement.

These reduced fees became effective on the 1st of February, 2019.
