THE Fiji Football Association will celebrate World Football Week this Saturday, with a special “Be Active” football programme at the Fiji Football Association Academy in Vatuwaqa, Suva.
The event will run from 9am to 11am and is open to boys and girls from U6 to U17, bringing young players together for a morning of fun, learning and physical activity.
Activities will be staged across both the futsal court and football ground. Children in the U6 to U-9 age group will take part in futsal court sessions, while U10 to U17 participants will be involved in football ground activities designed to develop basic skills and teamwork.
The programme is part of FIFA’s global World Football Week initiative led by FIFA, which this year carries the theme “Be Active”.
The campaign encourages children to move more every day, promoting at least 60 minutes of physical activity to support healthier and more active lifestyles.
Fiji FA continues to use such grassroots events to strengthen youth participation in football and promote a positive sporting culture across the country.
