Every year on October 15, Global Handwashing Day raises awareness of the importance of washing hands with soap to prevent illness and maintain good hygiene. This year’s theme, “Be a Handwashing Hero,” encourages everyone, especially children, to practice proper handwashing and inspire others to do the same.
In Fiji’s Western Division, this message came to life through awareness activities at Korovuto College and the Girmit Centre in Lautoka, where students, teachers, health professionals, and community leaders came together to promote better hygiene habits.
