Ba Rugby Union (BRU) had to cancel the much-anticipated Battle of The Bridge yesterday due to unfavorable weather conditions.
This event was slated to serve as the final trial for the BRU’s extended 60-member squad as they work towards finalizing their roster for the Skipper Cup.
“The Battle of the Bridge has been canceled due to the heavy rain this week, which has left the ground in very poor condition,” BRU secretary Gabby Kautoga said.
“Additionally, players from the highlands couldn’t make it into town due to the challenging road conditions,” Kautoga said.
In response to the cancellation, BRU promptly organized and conducted final trials yesterday to assess players across all three categories: U20, women, and senior men’s teams.
The announcement of the final squad is expected later today.
Despite the setback, BRU remains committed to ensuring a thorough selection process and preparing their best possible lineup for the upcoming Skipper Cup.
