JOHN Orobulu scored a hat-trick as Dayals Sawmillers Ba FC ended a seven-year wait for the Extra Premier League title with a commanding 6-0 victory over Tailevu Naitasiri at the 4R Stadium, Govind Park, Ba, yesterday.
The Men in Black produced a composed and dominant performance, controlling possession and showing their strength in both defence and attack from the opening whistle.
Orobulu opened the scoring in the 39th minute after Ba applied sustained pressure on the Tailevu Naitasiri defence.
Ba maintained their composure and went into halftime with a 1-0 lead.
They returned from the break with greater intensity and quickly extended their advantage.
A foul inside the penalty area in the 49th minute handed Ba a penalty, which Praneel Naidu calmly converted to make it 2-0.
Ba continued to dominate and Orobulu struck again to score his second goal of the match.
Vilitati Kautoga then added another goal as Ba continued to dismantle the Tailevu Naitasiri defence.
Orobulu completed his hat-trick to further underline Ba’s dominance before Shazil rounded off the scoring with the sixth goal.
The victory ended Ba’s seven-year wait for the Extra Premier League title and added another major trophy to their cabinet after their Fiji FACT triumph earlier this season.
Ba coach Ravinesh Kumar praised his players for delivering when it mattered most.
“I’m happy with the boys. They knew a win today would make us win the title, so the boys delivered,” Kumar said.
“It was hard work from the boys.”
The victory sparked celebrations in Ba as the Men in Black finally reclaimed the league crown after seven years.
The emphatic 6-0 victory not only ended Ba FC’s seven-year wait for the Extra Premier League title but also solidified their status as a dominant force in Fijian football.
This triumph adds to their impressive haul this year, complementing their 2026 BiC Fiji FACT Champions trophy won in Labasa earlier this season.
With such a strong finish to the year, Ba FC has set a high standard for themselves and will be a team to watch in the upcoming seasons.
