“Don’t just finish the race do the job”
These were the words of Lawrence Nawaqanibau after he stormed home winning the sub junior boys 1500 metres.
Nawaqanibau of Marist Brothers High School savoured the moment as he did not expect to win gold while also recalling all the hardwork and sacrifice he endured preparing for the Fiji Finals.
“In the final rep I remembered all the hard work we did waking up early in the morning doing adoration and training,” he explained.
“That’s why I’m really happy wining this race, this win is not just for me but for my brother and my families.”
Meanwhile Iosefo Rokotovitovi of Bua Central College came second and Karalo Gadekitoga of Nakasi High School settled for bronze
