A-G: Some schools have Year 8 students who cannot read

FIJI’S Attorney-GENERAL and Minister for Education Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says certain schools in the country had students in Year 8 who did not know how to read.

He said this was a concern because they found through a research that children were not encouraged at home to study and that they did not get much support from their parents.
