HEALTHCARE workers at Vatukarasa Health Centre in Nadroga were treated to a special morning tea by Tambua Sands Beach Resort in recognition of their service to the Coral Coast community.
The resort shared pastries, scones and pizza with doctors and nurses ahead of Diwali, the Festival of Lights, as a gesture of appreciation for their dedication to caring for local families.
Resort manager Angela Bob said the initiative was an opportunity to give back to the community and acknowledge those who spent their days looking after others.
“Our doctors and nurses spend their days caring for others, this was our small way of caring for them and saying thank you,” she said.
Ms Bob said Diwali represented sharing, kindness and togetherness, values the resort wanted to extend to the health centre team.
“We wanted to share that spirit with the team at Vatukarasa Health Centre and let them know their work is appreciated.”
She said community engagement remained important to the resort regardless of its size.
“We are a small resort, but we can still make time for our neighbours.
“Sometimes a shared meal and a sincere thank you are a meaningful place to start.”
The resort also extended its Diwali wishes to the health centre team and the wider community, thanking them for their care and dedication throughout the year.
