MORE than 500 preschool students and parents marched through Labasa Town today to launch the national celebration of Early Childhood Education.

The event, which was celebrated at Subrail Park, included items and speeches performed by students and teachers as they thanked their parents for their support.

In launching the celebration, University of the South Pacific director Doctor Samuela Bogitini told parents that their support in early childhood education was imperative.

He urged parents to support their children in early childhood education because it provided a lifelong platform for children if fully explored.

“ECE also provides pathways for children that will influence and determine their destiny,” Dr Bogitini said.
