Australian-based band raises $2k

Australian-based musical band The Gurus live concert at Tilak High School in Lautoka last Saturday raised around $2000.

The funds collected would go towards the upgrade works of a children’s park at Waiyavi Stage 2.

Event organiser Krishna Sami said he sold 400 tickets at $5 each.

“The concert was very successful and during the peak period, we had around 700 people witnessing the band performing some of the best melodious tracks,” he said.

Mr Sami said the tickets for kids and elderly were free and he claimed a large number from nearby communities watched it free.

“We also had a jamming session at South Seas Club on Sunday. “I thank the band members for their big heart and volunteering towards a worthy cause.

” The Guru band comprised of Neal Pronol, Rae Pronol, Jiten Bahadur, James Madhvan, Minnie Madhvan, Jaden Madhvan, Amrith Nagaraj, Abdul, Shahid Hussein and Brynesh Dutt.
