Board to engage project manager

Listen to this article:

The iTaukei Trust Fund Board (TTFB) will be engaging a project manager to oversee the rebuilding of the burnt down Great Council of Chiefs building at Draiba, Suva, says board CEO Aisake Taito.

Once completed, the complex will be called the Vale ni Bose.

He said the costs of constructing the building would be determined after the first phase was completed.

“We are now in discussions with the bank, we’re about to engage a project manager and from there we will put out a tender.

“Once we receive the tender then we will be able to know the cost, but that will depend on the quantity surveyor who will give us a rough idea about the costs.”

He said the new complex building would be used as their office space and also a meeting complex.

“The bottom part of the complex is for our office space, and there is the meeting space for anyone who wants to hold a meeting whether it’s the Pacific Forum Secretariat, NGOs or whoever is able to pay because we will charge a fee.”

The building complex was destroyed by a fire in 2019.
