The Labasa River will be a busy waterway this weekend as teams will compete in a Kayaking Water Race Competition.

Organised by Black Pebbles, a Labasa based company, participants will race from the Savilla House riverside to the bridge in town.

Team leader Jackson Tuvici said the response from participants have been overwhelming.

“We have two categories which is the single race and a double so we have different prizes for the two categories,” he said.

“Those who have opted for the single category pay $25 as entry fee and $100 as prize money while the teams of two pay $40 with a prize money of $200.

“So far we are fully booked for the double category but for the single we still have six places left.”

Tuvici said all COVID related measures would be upheld.
