Nadi business owner Tracey Farrington is looking forward to the reopening of borders to international visitors on December 1.

After suffering considerable loss at the height of Fiji’s COVID-19 crisis that resulted in the 10 year old Nadi Farmers Club closing down, Mrs Farrington said she was both excited and nervous to welcome back tourists.

“I am looking very forward to it,” she said.

“In one way I am a little bit nervous because we’ve had our borders closed for so long and we’ve now got this little tight knit community.

“We know that everyone is here and we’re all basically locals and then all of a sudden it’s going to burst open so that’s a bit overwhelming.

“But of course it’s really exciting and I can’t wait to run out to the airport and wave in the first plane.

“We are really looking forward to saying ‘Bula’ and getting back our tourism again.” She said they were forced to close the popular Nadi Farmers Club last year but the pandemic has brought about new opportunities.

“We don’t own Farmers Club anymore.

“We had to close it due to COVID and then Tom (Liu) and I decided not to reopen it.

“COVID has given us some new paths to adventure through and of course this is one of those new paths which are the launch of our Fiji Made Collection and our new brand name Tracey Farrington Fiji.

“You can find us in the Essence of Fiji building along the Nadi Back Road and my boutique is called Beach Boutique by Tracey Farrington.”
