A1 Safety and Packaging NZ Ltd and Sai Prema Foundation Fiji teamed up and donated$60,000 worth of hand sanitisers and alcohol hand wipes for COVID-19 Vaccination Drives across Fiji.

Sai Prema Foundation’s Dr Krupali Tappoo said it was extremely important to successfully administer vaccines across the nation and they hoped to support the vaccination teams.

“Vaccination is the answer and the way forward for the entire world to overcome this pandemic,” he said.

“It is extremely important that Fiji achieves herd immunity by vaccinating as much of the population as possible.

“With the support of A1 Safety and Packaging NZ, we have been able to make this donation to support our hardworking vaccination teams across the country.

“The hand sanitisers and alcohol wipes are for our teams who are administering the vaccines and for all those getting vaccinated.

“As a doctor on the frontline myself, it is prudent everyone practise safe hand hygiene to protect themselves from the further spread of the disease.”

Head of COVID-19 Vaccination Program, Dr Rachel Devi, said she was grateful for the support received for her team.

“We are very grateful to Sai Prema Foundation and A1 Safety & Packaging NZ for this kind gesture,” she said.

“These hand sanitisers and alcohol wipes are an important aspect for my team to administer vaccines across Fiji and to protect ourselves from the virus.

“We are doing the very best we can for our nation and we are grateful that our team is being cared for.”

Former Fiji resident Ravitesh Deo and Director of A1 Safety & Packaging NZ said they were keen to assist Fiji in the best way possible.

“To reduce and eliminate COVID-19, hygiene and PPE items are much needed, and that is why we donated these items as we know our people back home could make better use of these items than in New Zealand,” he said.

“We are very happy that the significant quantities of hand sanitisers and alcohol wipes will be put to good use and we thank Sai Prema Foundation for partnering with us in this effort.”
