Operationalisation of the Land Transport (Budget Amendment) Act 2021

Further to the announcement by the Attorney-General and Minister for Economy,  Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport (Ministry) wishes to advise that the Land Transport (Budget Amendment) Act 2021 has been passed by the Parliament of the Republic of Fiji on 30 July 2021.

As provided by in Section 1(2) of the Land Transport (Budget Amendment) Act 2021, the date of commencement will be announced by the Minister for Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport.

The Ministry is also in the process of finalising the related Land Transport Regulations and will advise all stakeholders accordingly.

Until such time, the Ministry requests all our transport stakeholders to adhere to the current  laws in place.
