Republic of Fiji Military Forces personnel who returned from the Golan Heights gave about $5000 to WOWS Kids Fiji to boost its work in the battle against cancer in children.

NGO co-founder Sina Kami said it had been a tough year for them.

“You are the ones who have responded first with cash donation.

“We set back last weekend and realised the events that we used to do publicly, we cannot do that now.”

She said they relied on donations because the COVID-19 pandemic had restricted them from raising funds.

“So all we rely on now is just to call out to whoever has spare coins to support.

“The work that we’ll do now is to reach out to the 65 children around Fiji.

“We have gift packs and some shopping for them and the most important thing is that the kids need to go to the hospital to get their treatment.

“So we have to pick them up, doesn’t matter where they live and to make sure that the safety of these children is maintained while they travel to the hospital in the taxi or any transport.”

RFMF Golan Heights contingent official, Lt Col Penioni Naliva said they hoped more officers would come onboard and assist the NGO.
