Two people were arrested last Friday for not wearing masks while travelling in a public vehicle in Levuka.
This, according to Acting Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu, who also said the two cases recorded in Levuka was alcohol-related.
ACP Tudravu said 53 people were arrested over a 24-hour period on Saturday for breaching curfew hours and health restrictions.
In the Southern Division, he said 32 cases were recorded, out of which 17 were alcohol-related and nine were found drinking grog.
He said a driver was also arrested for driving without a pass during curfew hours, including the passengers, while four were arrested for loitering.
In Nasinu, he said a 24-year-old man was found loitering during curfew hours.
Twelve of the 13 cases recorded in the Western Division, he said was alcohol-related, while one man was found loitering during curfew hours in Lautoka.
In the Central Division, he said a shop manager was arrested with his for operating business regarded as non-essential.
Only one case was recorded in the Northern Division involving a woman who was found loitering in Labasa.
