The arrest of eight juveniles over the last 24hours for breaching the national public health restrictions has got Police urging parents and guardians to keep a close watch over their children.
Fiji Police Acting Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu said the eight juveniles included seven in Nausori who were found gathering on Corbett Avenue; and a 17-year-old girl who was found drinking liquor along the Raiwai area.
He said those juveniles were among 61 arrests that breached restrictions.
“Parents and guardians are advised to keep monitoring the whereabouts of their children and inform them about the importance of adhering to the restrictions in place as well as the curfew orders,” ACP Tudravu said.
The Acting ComPol noted that ate them on the importance of adhering to the present restrictions.
According to ACP Tudravu, the Southern Division Division recorded 25 arrests, 22 in the Eastern Division and the seven in the Northern Division.
He said the Western Division recorded seven cases.
