THE Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) is not ready for the 2022 polls because it neither has a plan nor the means, says party member Lynda Tabuya.

She did not mince her words when she made the comment during an interview with this newspaper yesterday.

Ms Tabuya said SODELPA leader Viliame Gavoka was “flying blindly” in terms of leading the party.

“We are not ready,” she said.

“It’s been five months since the leader and the deputy leader were chosen and we still don’t see a viable plan to win in 2022.

“We’ve been given an outline of a manifesto which is based on 2018.

“We can’t use it because COVID has happened.

“We need to look at a robust recovery plan for the economy come 2022.

“It’s the definition of insanity when you try the same thing twice and expect a different result. It’s just not going to happen.

“We don’t see a campaign plan. “I don’t see a finance plan to raise funds. I don’t see an economic recovery plan.

“So it’s on the leader to show us the way and in the last management board meeting he admitted that we’re flying blindly.”

Mr Gavoka said he was “amazed” that Ms Tabuya was questioning the integrity of the party leadership.
