“IT is time to promote our own product”, says Post Fiji chief executive officer Dr Anirudha Bansod.

He made this statement yesterday in regards to the company’s recent decision to cease Vodafone’s M-PAiSA services from Post Fiji outlets nationwide.

“Since 2013, Post Fiji has graciously given our platform to Vodafone to operate its M-PAiSA services at our 58 outlets alongside our own Post Money Order service, which is doing very well, especially with the older demographic and customers in the rural and maritime areas that still trusts the old system of manual transactions,” Dr Bansod said.

He said sustainability became an issue, especially since Post Fiji was getting very little in commission for using its own resources and staff to offer M-PAiSA services.

“I believe this decision bodes well for the consumers in that Post Fiji will be in a healthy competition not only with M-PAiSA but with the money transfer services and consumers have more choices.”

Dr Bansod said Post Fiji planned to improve its digitisation services of money transfers to suit the evolving market.
