A former employee of Goodman Fielder International Fiji Limited accused of fraud charges had his bail extended by the High Court in Suva.

Biren Lal appeared before judge Justice Thushara Rajasinghe today.

In court, it was revealed that the lawyer representing Mr Lal was not present for the case.

The court was also told that the particular lawyer had not  appeared for the matter on the last four previous occasions.

Justice Rajasinghe told the accused that the court was not working towards the decisions of the lawyers.

He further added that the court would proceed with the matter with or without the lawyer.

Mr Lal is charged in the matter along with Rajat Maharaj for allegedly defrauding Goodman Fielder International Fiji Limited.

It is alleged the duo had misappropriated a large sum of money through the procurement process of Goodman Fielder between 2013 and 2015 at their Vatuwaqa office.
