Dreketi resident has called on Government to quickly offer monetary assistance so that he can rebuild his house that was damaged by Severe Tropical Cyclone Yasa.
Dharmen Chandra lived in the house with his son.
“The whole house has been damaged from floor to roof,” he said. “I will rebuild the house because I had built this house.”
He said he hadn’t done an estimate on damage.
“The roof is gone, the walls have collapsed and everything inside the house is damaged.
I only hope Government can announce some sort of assistance quickly so that we can start rebuilding.”
Mr Chandra and his son, Parnish, are living at a neighbour’s house.
“I hadn’t thought that one day, I will have to abandon my house and go and live with someone else.”
