The Republic of Fiji Military Force, Fiji Police Force and FMF Foods Limited have signed a three-year sponsorship towards running the Ratu Sukuna tournament.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Acting Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu, RFMF Commander Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto and FMF Foods Limited Group Operations Manager Jimi Taniela.

The RFMF is hosting the 2020 tournament with the theme ‘Rise Fiji Rise’.

Mr Taniela said the theme ‘Rise Fiji Rise’ will bring relief to those families that are being affected by the prevailing global COVID-19 pandemic.

“We will work towards helping Fiji recover hence we support the secretariat in issuing all gate takings to charity and encourage them to donate a certain portion of the gate takings every year to charity,” he said.

Last month, an exclusive agreement was signed by Fiji Television Limited and the RFMF to broadcast the 2020 Ratu Sukuna Bowl Challenge on its free-to-air channel Fiji One.

The Sukuna Bowl – an annual rugby union fixture that usually takes place in Suva – is contested between the Fiji Police Forces and the Fiji Military Forces.
