The Fiji National Rugby League expects the number of fans to increase as the Vodafone Cup competition draws to its business end.

The Maroons State will hold its final round of competition at Prince Charles Park in Nadi today.

Despite this being the final round, the quarter-finalists from the Maroons State have been confirmed.

Defending champions Ravoravo Rabbitohs has topped the competition and the match against the Vatutoko Tigers this afternoon will have no bearing on their status.

The Sabeto Roosters, Saru Dragons and Coastline Roos are all tied on 12 points each and will battle to try and gain the runner-up place.

The clash for the quarter-final qualifiers for the Blues State will go down to the wire tomorrow.

The top two teams from the Blues State, Nasinu zone and Suva zone competitions will earn a berth in the next stage.

The Nadera Panthers and Burenitu Cowboys lead the Nasinu zone with ten points each and will face off in the top of the table fixture at the Ra High School ground at 2.40pm.

Namuaniwaqa Sea Eagles lead the Suva zone competition and faces lowly rated Vusu Raiders in Ra with a chance to stamp its top position.

FNRL acting chief executive Don Natabe said it was great to see the number of fans increasing at the match venues during the competition.

He said they were looking to build an exciting atmosphere as the competition heads into the elimination stages on the way to the grand-final.

“We are relying on our fans to support their respective teams by turning up in numbers at the match venues,” Natabe said.

“This is because the income that we gain from the gate takings and the sale of merchandise is poured back to the clubs to help them support their development programs.”
