Former EU head of delegation for the Pacific passes away

The former head of the delegation of the European Union for the Pacific Ambassador, Julian Wilson, who was based in Fiji has passed away.

This has been confirmed by the Attorney-General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, during the post-5th high-level political dialogue with the EU press conference held at Suvavou House this morning.

He said Mr Wilson passed away a few days ago.

“I take this opportunity to offer our condolences to the friends and family of His Excellency Julian Wilson who was the immediate EU head of the Pacific,” Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said.

Prior to his posting to Fiji, Mr Wilson was the acting deputy managing director Asia and the Pacific at the European external action services.

He has previously served as the EU ambassador to Indonesia, Brunei, ASEAN, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives.
