SODELPA suspension lifted with immediate effect; Duituturaga’s GS position official

Emele Duituturaga is now officially the general secretary for the SODELPA party after the party’s suspension was lifted by the Registrar of Political Parties,Mohammmed Saneem, this afternoon.

The party will convene a special annual general meeting at the Novotel Convention Centre in  Lami on July 25 since they could not meet on or before June 30.

“The Party is required by the Constitution to convene an Annual General Meeting on or before 30 June of every year. Since that has not happened for 2020, the Party  will be calling a Special General Meeting on 25 July 2020 at the Novotel Convention Centre in Lami,” Mr Saneem said.
