A measured approach will be taken before COVID-19 restrictions are lifted in Fiji.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainamarama stressed this while officially announcing the recovery of Fiji’s last three COVID-19 patients today.

Mr Bainimarama said every step will be carefully considered.

“Over the next week we are going to be reassessing some of our health protections measure. Like we have done from the very start, every step forward will be carefully considered and every decision will be backed by the best available science,” Mr Bainimarama said.

He said the measured approach is needed to take us forward.

“This measured approached is what brought us here and it is what will bring us forward as we adjust to a new normal. Because with the virus still raging around the world, we will need your active participation to build on our success.”

Meanwhile all restriction including the 10pm-5pm curfew remains.
