EFL plans to execute multi-million dollar capital expenditures

Energy Fiji Limited plans to execute $213million worth of capital expenditures over the next three years, states the EFL 2019 annual report that was presented in Parliament on Friday.

A total of $96million be used in 2021, $51m in 2022 and $66m in 2023.

The report states $86m is being used in 2020 for projected capital expenditure.

These are for a number of projects that include distribution reinforcement projects, urban reticulation and rural electrification projects, the purchase of electricity metres and motor vehicles, and the upgrading of the Monasavu Hydro-Electric Scheme.

Also part of the 2020 capital projects is the 33kv sub-transmission network development from Vuda to Naikabula and four 132kV tower replacements.

The new 132kV transmission network development from Virara, Ba to Koronubu, Ba is also part of the 2020 capital projects, states the report.
