Four police officers facing assault charges appeared at the Tavua Magistrates Court yesterday.
Jese Marovia, Mavi Kuruvakatini, Samisoni Noqica and Senirusiate Nasobu appeared before Magistrate Lisiate Fotofili charged with three counts of assault causing actual bodily harm and four counts of common assault.
It is alleged that between January 25-26, 2018 at Tavua, the police officers assaulted suspects during a drug raid operation.
The State served full disclosures and the court granted the accused persons bail on strict conditions.
The matter has been adjourned to October 19, 2020 for plea.
