The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission received a cheque of $5000 today from Digicel Fiji to boost its Veilomani Food Bank initiative.

Digicel Fiji CEO Farid Mohammed said the company had been in a number of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities around Fiji through different events, which had impacted the country in the past such as TC Winston and TC Harold.

“Previously we would do all the packing and delivery ourselves but we are mindful of the other situation we are in which is the COVID-19 which puts restriction on us in being able to get out there as freely as we would have.

“So we saw this as an opportunity to divert some of those funds would have otherwise used to support our community through FCCC,” he said.
