Labasa College in Vanua Levu has been identified by the Health Ministry as a possible isolation facility for COVID-19 patients in Macuata.

This was revealed by Health Minister Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete at a press conference today.

Dr Waqainabete said other government facilities in the north were also being looked at for the establishment of potential isolation centers.

He said the ministry was looking at areas with higher population densities to establish isolation facilities.

“Labasa College is an area of interest for us, however, we cannot clarify that at the moment. I can assure you that’s a place that we have identified.”
