The informal sector affected by the Government-sanctioned lockdowns will also get assistance.

Minister for Finance Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said during the Supplementary Appropriation Bill 2020 COVID-19 Response Budget.

“Furthermore, for those affected in the informal sector in the lockdown areas, Government will also be providing a one-off relief payment of $150 dollars for all those who have a street trader or hawker license,” he said.

“These measures – through FNPF – will inject at least a total of $150million back into the economy, topped off with another $60million contribution from Government.”
