New Zealand hopes to replicate Fiji’s women representation in Parliament.

Speaking in an interview with the media during her official visit to the country this week, NZ Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said she shared this with Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama during their bilateral meeting.

“I discussed and raised with PM Bainimarama my appreciation of the fact that within the Pacific, you have the greatest representation of women in Parliament and that I’m very keen to continue to do what we can to replicate that around the Pacific and the strength of the women and leadership here,” she said.

PM Ardern was in the country this week for a four-day visit before departing for Australia to meet with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
