Women community leaders and violence against women advocates from the greater Nadi area were privileged to meet New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern today.

Ms Arden took part in her last official engagement, opening the new Nadi Women’s Crisis Centre – a branch of its national body, the Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre.

FWCC coordinator Shamima Ali said the New Zealand PM stood as a beacon of hope and a hero to many, but especially to women and girls who looked up to her leadership.

Ms Ardern said she was delighted to be part of the event.

She headed back home to New Zeland when the engagement concluded.

Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Mereseini Vuniwaqa was also present at the event.
