THREE transitional deacons were ordained at the Sacred Heart Cathedral yesterday.
Iosefo Wailoa of the Archdiocese of Suva, Sinapati Ioane of the Salesians of Don Bosco and Aminiasi Ravuwai of the Society of St Columban were ordained by Archbishop Peter Loy Chong.
Following an average of seven months of training at the Pacific Regional Seminary in Suva, the three now take on the final steps towards priesthood.
Archbishop Loy Chong explained that in contrast to the transitional deacons, permanent deacons got married and had families, remaining as deacons for the rest of their lives.
