DON’T bring my father into it, Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum shouted at Opposition Whip Lynda Tabuya in Parliament yesterday.

Ms Tabuya had accused the A-G of using words against the Opposition that were “not gracious”.

“Perhaps he should practise some graciousness in Parliament when he is addressing members.”

Ms Tabuya said the A-G used words such as “stupidity”, “you are a joke” and “fool”.

“I am sure his father who is sitting here did not teach him those, did not teach him that behaviour.”

To this, Mr Sayed-Khaiyum retorted, “don’t bring my father into it”.

He did not rise on a point of order to object to Ms Tabuya’s comments.
