OFFICERS from the Department of Immigration have been reminded not to make the same mistakes some of the immigration officers in the past had committed.

While addressing the new officers during a recent two-day induction workshop, permanent secretary for the Office of the Prime Minister and acting permanent secretary for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yogesh Karan said in the past, some officers had to face the full brunt of the law because of their actions.

“Any form of corruption within this organisation will not be condoned,” he said.

“Don’t be easily swayed and don’t risk your jobs by engaging in fraudulent activities.

“If you think of doing such things, you will one day be caught and dealt with accordingly.”
